May Staff Meeting

1.  Senior Information (2016)


  • Senior Final Date(s)
      •  Monday, May 23rd:  Periods 1-5
      • Tuesday, May 24th:  Periods 6-10
        • Chromebooks will be return into the library at 8:00 a.m.
      • Wednesday, May 25th Class Night @7:00 p.m.
        • Locker Clean out at 8:00 am.
        • Class Night/Graduation Practice will be at 9:00 am
      • Sunday, May 29th Graduation @ 2:00 p.m.
    2.  Underclassman Finals
    • Will be on June 1st/2nd
      • Two Core Area(s) each day
      • Draft will be out next week
    • Students will report only for the finals
    • NO Finals may be taken early unless by administrative approval.

    3.  Testing
    • ACT Aspire
    • AP Testing
      • AP Human Geography/ In the Gymnasium/Friday, May 13th
      • School bells will be turn off
    4.  Staff Check-out

    • June 3rd Teacher Work Day

    5.  16-17 Master Schedule
    • Karen and I will be starting with the 2017 class today for course request.
    • SWTC Component with course work.
    • We're looking to be finished with student request on May 20th.
    • 2020 Parent Meeting on the course changes:  Possible date(s) ?
    • Great possibility of  math curriculum change for next year.
      • Bridge for Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.
    6.  Summer School
    • Summer School registration is live
    • June 3rd is the last day for summer school registration.
    • Any area(s) interested in the summer school options
      • Currently Physical Education/Driver Education offering
      • Credit Recovery in Science and English
    7.  Summer Projects
    • Energy Efficient Dollars
      • Cafeteria Bathrooms:  June 6th is the start-up date
      • Band Room:  Band Windows
      • Other projects will be determine with Staff Check-out
    8.  Building Project/Referendum
    • HSR has been selected as our architect for the building project
    • 2nd Round of meetings are taking place today.
      • Staff will be meeting with HSR today on the Science, Agriculture, and Food Consumer Science.

    Review Items for next year:

    1.  Cell Phone/Electronic Policy:  Students/Staff-Discussion
    • No cell phones during class, study hall, and homeroom.
    • Hallways- in between classes.
    • No cell phones in the locker room or coaches office.
    • Closed Campus: No cell phones because of discipline.
    • NO electronic devices or cell phones to be used during Assemblies
    • Ear Buds?
    When can I use the cell phone:
    • Only used during before school, lunch, and after school.
    Consequences: Draft
    • Step 1:  Staff can confiscate and send the electronic device to the office.  Student picks-up the phone in the office after school.
    • Step 2:  Staff can confiscate and send the electronic device to the office.  Student will need to turn into the office at the start of school. ( 1 Week) May move to Step ?
    • Step 3:  Staff can confiscate and send the electronic device to the office.  Student will need to turn into the office at the start of school. ( 9 weeks)
    • Step 4:  Staff can confiscate and send the electronic device to the office.  Student will need to turn into the office at the start of school. ( Semester)
    • Step 5:  Staff can confiscate and send electronic device to the office and is returned to the parent only.   The student will need to turn their phone or electronic device into the office on a daily basis for the remainder of the school year.
    2.  Backpacks
    • Are we going to allow the backpacks in classrooms?
    3.  Homerooms will stay but cell phones/backpacks/student passes will need to be addressed.
